Ronan Is New Development Director, Treasurer At Jericho Partnership

Michael P. Ronan of Newtown has been named director of corporate development and treasurer at Jericho Partnership Inc in Danbury. He will be responsible for building Jericho’s relationships with the greater Danbury community and guiding the Jericho treasury and accounting functions.

Jericho Partnership is an umbrella organization of nine partnership ministries, six partnership churches, and two private foundations focusing on the youth, at-risk, and homeless communities in the city of 80,000 people.

Founded in 2005, Jericho provides funds, facilities, volunteers, and staff support to partner ministries in their outreach activities, and links partner church volunteers to partner ministry activities in which spiritual, emotional, and material support are provided.

Ministry funding by Jericho will exceed $2 million in the 2008-2009 fiscal year, according to William Beattie, Jericho’s executive chairman.

“Our strategic development goal is to increase our funding of partnership ministries to $4 million by 2012, and Michael’s broad experience, faith, and commitment to the greater Danbury community will contribute greatly to our achieving this goal,” Mr Beattie said.

Most recently Mr Ronan was a senior management consultant for Rethink Inc. Before that he practiced law in Ridgefield and Danbury, and was a contract administrator with Perkin-Elmer in Danbury during the Hubble Space Telescope program.

He is a professional golf club fitter associated with Stony Hill Custom Golf in Bethel, and is a founding director of Kevin’s Community Center free medical clinic in Newtown and of Samaritan Health Center, a start-up free pediatric clinic in Danbury in the state certification process.

Mr Ronan has served as an officer, director, and advisor for several nonprofit and religious organizations, including Newtown Youth & Family Services and the Holy Family of Nazareth Center. He is an active member of St Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in Newtown, serves as a lector and co-facilitator of the church’s jobs ministry, and has served as a catechist, a member of the parish council, and school board.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from the University of Connecticut School of Business, and a Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law. He and his wife, Kathy, have three children.
