Rick Daskamâs paintings have appeared in art galleries and juried exhibitions throughout Connecticut and the New York area. A graduate of Paier College of Art in Hamden, Mr Dasdam honed his talent under the tutelage of Rudolph Zallinger and Ken Davies. At graduation he was honored with the Most Outstanding Illustrators Award, and soon after began illustrating for a number of clients.
Fine art painting has always been a love for Mr Daskam. In 2004 he began entering juried art exhibitions and museum shows. Preferring to work in oil, Mr Daskamâs work has garnered him numerous awards including The Claude Parsons Award for Landscape, The Edmund F. Ward Award and The Frank Vincent Dumond Award for Best Light and Atmosphere Effect from Hudson Valley Art Association. He has also won awards for the past three years in the American Artists Professional League Grand National Exhibitions in New York City.
In 2007 Mr Daskam was accepted into the prestigious Butler Institute of American Art 71st National Midyear Exhibition in Ohio and won the Collector Award.
He is represented locally by Gregory James Gallery in New Milford and makes his home in Southbury.
