Lalit Masih To Offer Next SCAN Program

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will have a transparent watercolor demonstration by the nationally known artist Lalit Masih at its meeting on Wednesday, August 27. The program will begin at 1:30 pm and will take place at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown (at the flagpole).

There is no admission charge. The program will take place in the building’s lower meeting room.

Mr Masih’s distinctive style and sense of design and color has developed through his years of study that began in his native India. He continued his studies with courses at Syracuse University.

He received a master’s of fine arts degree at the School of Visual and Performing Arts at C.W. Post College. In addition he has studied with leading watercolorists including Frank Webb, Christopher Schink and Robert Wood.

Mr Masih’s work has been included in national juried shows including those by American Watercolor Society, National Academy of Design, and National Watercolor Society. He won awards in two recent American Watercolor Society shows. He is a member of Allied Artists of America, American Artist Professional League, and The Salmagundi Club, where he was an award winner in the 2001 Annual Members’ Exhibition.
