Humbled By Generosity
To the Editor:
On behalf of the players, coaches, and families of Newtown Babe Ruth's One-Eye Cats, I would like to thank all of the people, organizations, and businesses that supported our trip to Tennessee for the Babe Ruth U15 World Series.
Although the team did not come home with a trophy as they would have liked, they felt the support provided by many throughout our wonderful town.
Cover Two graciously donated a portion of its proceeds to our cause as well.
Specifically we would like to extend our gratitude to the following businesses in Newtown for their donations: Dental Associates of Newtown and Dr Aaron Gilman, and Buzz's Shell of South Main Street, Newtown.
We also want to extend a thank you to Bagel Delights and Stop & Shop for allowing us to collect donations outside their entrances. And the following businesses supported us through collection bins in their businesses: Cork N Barrel, Fairground Liquors in Sand Hill Plaza, My Place, Butcher's Best Market, Newtown Hardware, and Newtown Car Care.
Newtown Babe Ruth Baseball, Newtown Youth Basketball Association, Newtown Lacrosse, Newtown Youth Fifth Grade Team, and Peter D'Amico also deserve thanks for their financial donations.
Words do little to express the gratitude felt by all during this experience. We are humbled by your generosity.
Sincerely,
Suzanne Hurley
on behalf of all the players, coaches and families of the One-Eye Cats
