The Newtown Rotary Club will hold its annual Jim Osborne Memorial Golf Classic on September 9 at Tashua Knolls Golf Club in Trumbull.

The Golf Classic includes the round of golf plus lunch, cocktails and dinner, followed by an auction and raffle. The cost is $175 per person. There are openings for golfers and tee sponsors. “This is the Rotary Club’s major fundraising event each year,” club president Tom McKirdy said. “Our primary focus in running this golfing event is to support many of the non-profit organizations in Newtown that do so much for those who are less fortunate. Plus it’s just great fun.”

Paul Gehrett will be the honorary chairman of the Osborne Golf Classic this year. “Paul has done so much for Newtown over the years. We felt that this was a nice way to recognize his contributions to the community and to say thanks,” McKirdy said.

The Newtown Rotary Club comprises inspired individuals who translate their passions into relevant social causes to change lives in Newtown and the greater world community.
