Evagash & Kovacs Honored With Jones Fellowships

Dick Kovacs and Tom Evagash recently received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award from the Newtown Lions Club for the year 2008-09.

The award was named for the founder of Lions Club International. It is the highest form of recognition conferred by the Lions Club International Foundation. 

Dick Kovacs has been an active participant in AmeriCares, The Edmond Town Hall Seats Project, sending care packages to soldiers, and Lions Sight Saver Day. He has served as president, project treasurer, and membership chairman of the Newtown chapter.

Tom Evagash has been the president of the Newtown Lions Club for the past two years. He has also received the Knight of the Blind Award. Mr Evagash has been active in AmeriCares, and the annual Pootatuck Duck Race. He has also served as secretary and Tail Twister for the Newtown Club.
