Fern ID Walk At Audubon

SOUTHBURY — A fern identification workshop is being offered at the Audubon Center at Bent of the River on Wednesday, August 29, at 9:30 am.

The workshop is part of the center’s ongoing “Naturalist Training” series. Participants will learn how to identify ferns using various field guides and keys to recognize ferns.

The fern family and its allies can be a good starting point for a beginning naturalist. They are a small group of plants to learn, compared to flowers and even birds.

The workshop is free to the public and begins at the visitors’ parking area at 185 East Flat Hill Road. Those seeking directions or more information should call 264-5098 Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm.
