Arthur Jack Thrall

Arthur Jack Thrall, age 82, of 33 Berkshire Road, Sandy Hook, husband for 55 years of Marjorie G. (Bell) Thrall, died August 20 at Ashlar of Newtown after a long illness.

He was born in Sandy Hook, May 31, 1919, son of the late Charles and Hilda (Hanlon) Thrall. A lifetime resident of Sandy Hook, he attended Newtown schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He served for 33 months in the South Pacific in the 11th Army Infantry.

Mr Thrall was a plumber by trade and a 50-year member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union, Local 777. Mr Thrall had been a cub scoutmaster. He was a past president of Zoar Cemetery Association.

He is survived, besides his wife, by three daughters, Debra Thrall of Sandy Hook and by Diana (Dee) Thrall and Rose Fogelman, both of Newtown; one sister, Ruth Hensel of Sandy Hook; and two brothers, Robert Dean of Hawleyville and Richard Dean of Florida. He was predeceased by a son, Jack Thrall.

Funeral services were held at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St, on August 22. Interment was in Zoar Cemetery.
