Real Food CT recently presented its third annual “Seed to Plate” local harvest celebration dinner at NewSylum Brewing Company.

Local chefs involved in putting on the August 9 event included Steve Forgione from Phinney’s, Pam Buchler from Aquarian Catering, Genee Habansky from Herbaceous Catering, and Matt Kirshner from Uncle Matt’s Bakery. Produce for the event was provided by Waldingfield Farm, Daffodil Hill Growers, and Laurel Glen Farm.

Musical entertainment was provided by Jeff Smith and Dan Tressler, performing as Amber Anchor and offering several bluegrass, country, and folk favorites.

There was a silent auction featuring items provided by local businesses such as The Farmhouse and BD Provisions.

Proceeds from the event went to support the work of Real Food CT, which has donated over 50 tons of fresh produce to food pantries since 2019 as well as helping to support a young farmers internship program.
