Many Rose To The Reading Challenge
To the Editor:
The Teen Summer Reading Challenge for grades 6–12 at C.H. Booth Library has just ended, and it was a great success. Over 70 young people participated, reading 327 books, for a total of 93,562 pages!
I would like to thank the following local businesses and organizations who generously donated prizes and gift certificates that we gave away in our raffles. These community members know the value of reading, and their incentives are an integral part of the program. We thank them for their community spirit: Cave Comics, Dunkin’ Donuts, Edmond Town Hall Theater, Franco’s Pizza, My Place Restaurant, Newtown Nail Spa, Newtown Pizza Palace, Peachwave Frozen Yogurt, and the Little Bookstore at C.H. Booth Library.
Also, a special shout out to Hailey Pankow, Aysha Hafiz, Amelia Schill, Cora Kneen, Mary Kate Halmose, Katie Hazzard, Cece Floros, Hunter Kirkman, Eileen McCleary and Justin Halmose. You all reported on an enormous number of books over the last two months.
Congratulations to all the participants and the sponsors in summer 2012!
