Don't Ruin The Center Of Sandy Hook
Donât Ruin The Center
Of Sandy Hook
To the Editor:
The center of Sandy Hook is absolutely charming. It is an iconic village setting that I enjoy every time I drive through. I certainly agree that bringing a branch of Newtown Savings Bank to Sandy Hook would be a boost for business in the area.
I wonder if Antinozzi Assoc. saw the wonderful job Newtown Savings Bank did on Main Street to maintain the character of the town center. Also, I wonder if they ever came to Sandy Hook? The building they designed looks like a federal building from the inner city in 1940. I canât imagine seeing that behemoth in a small village center. It would be a crime.
There must be a better design. Perhaps the bank could check with the designer of the Main Street branch.
Hopefully any other buildings going into Sandy Hook center wonât follow suite and completely ruin the ambience.
