Correction

In a story titled “Ethics Members Charged With ‘Protecting’ Council Official” that appeared in the August 13 edition of The Bee, the stated reason for the recusal of Board of Ethics member Ronald Wilcox from voting on the disposition of a complaint lodged against Legislative Council Vice Chair Mary Ann Jacob was incorrectly reported. Mr Wilcox recused himself because a neighborhood association that he had headed was involved in previous legal proceedings with Ms Jacob on an unrelated issue.. He had not been involved in legal proceedings with school board member Lillian Bittman, as was reported.
