An Affront To The Community
An Affront To The Community
To the Editor:
In last weekâs The Newtown Bee, an architectural rendering of a planned commercial redevelopment at the center of Sandy Hook, as depicted, appears to be an affront to all the design goals for the community. It would seem to indicate that past, present, and future design efforts and considerations are a complete waste of everyoneâs valuable time and money.
Newtown Savings Bank is to have a branch office there. The bank built a wonderful addition to their headquarters, making a lasting, beautiful, thoughtful contribution to Newtownâs Main Street. Cannot something as well done as that be achieved for Sandy Hook Center? The other current building projects there seem to be headed in the right direction.
This is a great opportunity for major enhancement.
