For Love & Knishes

SOUTHBURY — Lunch and entertainment continues on Tuesdays during August with the Love and Knishes Senior Lunch Program of the Federation-Jewish Communities of Western CT.

All programs take place in the social hall at Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North. The food is freshly prepared each week by Chef Nancy Stokes and features healthful, delicious menus.

Following the noontime lunch, there is entertainment starting at 1 pm. The following programs are planned:

On August 24, duo pianists King Bosworth and Janet Somoroff Lubell will give a concert of music by Bach, Rachmaninoff, Gluck, Gershwin and others.

On August 31, “Piano Plus One” will feature pianist Jeanne Hinkson and clarinetrist Artie Schnabel playing Dixieland and swing music.

Lunch reservations must be made by Thursday for the next week’s program. All programs are open to the public, and there is a suggested donation of $5.50. To RSVP, call Debby Horowitz, Brownstein Jewish Family Service Program Director, at 267-3177 extension 105.
