Thelma Elaine (Patterson) De Carlo, 88, of Sandy Hook, beloved wife of the late Anthony John DeCarlo died August 16 in Maefair Health Care Center in Trumbull.
Mrs DeCarlo was born on December 12, 1915, in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late John and Alice (Hein) Patterson. She graduated from Harding High School and lived in Bridgeport until 1968 when she moved to Newtown. She worked for many years at Deanâs Cleaners in Westport, Bridgeport, and Stratford.
She is survived by her five devoted sons, Anthony DeCarlo and his wife Janet of Sandy Hook, Joseph DeCarlo of Sandy Hook, Michael DeCarlo and his wife Barbara of South Carolina, John DeCarlo of Bridgeport, and Gregory DeCarlo and his wife Rose of Easton. She is also survived by a beloved sister, Beulah Cepetelli of Trumbull, 13 cherished grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Wilfred and John Patterson, and by a sister, Myrtle Anderson.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 20, at 9 am from the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Route 111, Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am in St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Route 25, in Newtown. Family and friends were scheduled to call at the funeral home on Thursday, August 19, from 4 to 8 pm.
