Juvenile Assault

Police said they issued a youth under age 16 a juvenile summons on August 18 on a charge of third degree assault for an incident that occurred at that youth’s home on August 3.

Police report that a group of juveniles had gathered at the home and were “fooling around” when a misunderstanding arose and the accused youth placed a multibladed tool near the victim’s neck.

The victim then kicked the youth to get away, resulting in the victim’s right thumb being cut, police said.

The arrested juvenile is scheduled to appear in Danbury Juvenile Court on August 30. The arrest stems from an ongoing investigation, police said. State law shields the identities of people under 16 who are charged with crimes.

Vandalism

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Brian Davis, 35, of Danbury turned himself over to them at the police station on the morning of August 19 and was charged with first degree criminal mischief.

Police said Davis allegedly destroyed building equipment owned by the victim of the crime. Police received the complaint in May. First degree criminal mischief is a felony involving more than $1,500 worth of property damage.

Police released Davis for a September 2 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
