Beautiful Bugs Topic Of

Upcoming Audubon Lecture

The Lillinonah Audubon Society will sponsor a program open to the public on Thursday, August 26, at 7:30 pm, entitled “Beautiful Bugs.”

The dynamic duo of Mark Szantyr and Greg Hanisek will present slides from their stunning collection of more than 14,000 insect images. These exceptional field naturalists have spent the last few summers scouring Connecticut’s fields, streams, and bogs to locate, identify, and document butterflies, dragonflies, and damselflies –– from the common to the uncommon and the downright rare. This program will bring a new understanding of the flying wonders that surround area residents throughout the summer and fall.

The program will be held at the Bent of the River Audubon Center barn, on Flat Hill Road, off route 172, in South Britain, and is most easily accessed at Exit 14 off I-84. There is no charge and people of all ages are welcome. The phone number for the Bent of the River Audubon Center is 264-5098.
