Irish Festival Is Returning

To Ives Concert Park

DANBURY — The Danbury Ladies’ and Men’s Ancient Order of Hibernians will hold its seventh annual Greater Danbury Irish Festival the weekend of Friday through Sunday, September 14-16 at Ives Concert Park. The venue is on Western Connecticut State University’s west side campus.

Festivities will begin Friday at 5 pm and then continue that evening until 10:30. Hours the remainder of the weekend will be 11 am to 10:30 pm on Saturday, and 11 am to 7 pm on Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults each day, or free for children ages 12 and under. All attractions will be under tents, so the festival will be presented rain or shine.

Featured will be pipe bands, step dancers, cultural exhibits, ceili and set dancing, Irish imports, food and drink, souvenir tents, children activities, and sporting demonstrations.

There will be Irish bands and entertainment by Black 47, Eileen Ivers, Andy Cooney, Dermot Henry, Paul Duffy, Highland Rovers, The Tipperary Knights, Pete Kelly, Ceol Na Croi, and dancers from Gray School of Irish Dance.
