Lucy Marie Bonacci, 90, died peacefully August 17, at the Bethel Health Care facility, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 22, 1922, she was the daughter of Catherine and John Donatico of South Norwalk.

She leaves behind three sons, Frank Jr, and his wife Joan, of Newtown, Joseph, and his wife Patricia, of Danbury, and John of New Fairfield; plus five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one she had hoped to meet in October. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years in 2007, as well as three brothers, five sisters, and her daughter-in-law, Deborah.

Mrs Bonacci graduated from local schools and, as many women did at the time, went into factory work in support of the war abroad. It was during that war and while joining friends at the local Friday night dances that she met the love of her life, Frank Bonacci, who would become her dance partner for life.

She was a lifelong parishioner of St Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and various prayer groups during her life.

A devoted mother and homemaker extraordinaire, she will always be remembered by family and friends for the marvelous food she was all too willing to share with any and all who would stop by at a moment’s notice — as she always cooked more than enough, just in case.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Joseph's Church, 8 Robinson Avenue, Danbury, on Wednesday, August 21, at 10 am.  Burial will follow in St Peter Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are by Cornell's Funeral home in Danbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors of CT Development Office at www.woundedwarriorsproject.org or to Gaylord Hospital, PO Box 400, Wallingford CT 06492.
