Hospital Offers Patient Care Technician,
Phlebotomy Courses
DERBY â Applications are being accepted for the next patient care technician and phlebotomy courses being offered by the Griffin Hospital School of Allied Health Careers. Anyone age 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED may apply for admission. Early registration is encouraged for both courses, as space is limited.
The fall session of the 16-week patient care technician (PCT) course begins Monday, September 19. Classes sessions are held from 9 am to 3:30 pm on Monday and Friday, and students can choose to attend either day (9 am to noon) or evening (6 to 9 pm) sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to accommodate their schedules.
The PCT program offers ample hands-on training and opportunities for practical experience in the schoolâs fully equipped mock hospital room. Tuition is $3,995 and includes lab coats, books and national certification exam fee, as well as four weeks of practical training at Griffin Hospital.
The schoolâs popular 13-week phlebotomy course begins Tuesday, September 20, with classes held Tuesday through Thursday. Students can choose to attend either day (9 am to noon) or evening (6 to 9 pm) sessions to accommodate their schedules.
Tuition is $1,995 and includes lab coats, books, national certification exam fee, and a 40-hour externship.
