Do The Right Thing

To the Editor:

I strongly agree with everything Rich Paltauf said in his letter [“Make The Right Choice,” 8/12/11] about the owner-operator bus system being an intangible benefit for Newtown residents with children and the peace of mind that stems from having our neighbors drive our kids.

Janet Robinson cannot put herself in our place because her place is not here. It’s just her job. I hope she understands the importance of this matter. Can’t she see that the dog and pony shows of other bus companies are just words and numbers? Can we meet the proposed new bus drivers?

I hope that Dr Robinson and her administration can do the right thing and with any luck her resume won’t include, “Replaced Newtown’s owner-operator bus system with a more cost-effective stranger-driver bus system.”
