Attempted Larceny At West Street Home
Just before 1 pm on Sunday, August 14, an unknown man criminally trespassed and also attempted to steal items from a West Street residence, police report.
Police said they received a call at about 12:51 pm from the resident of a West Street home, near Roosevelt Drive, who told them that a man had knocked on the front door of the house and when the resident did not respond to the knock, the man opened the unlocked door and attempted to remove unspecified items from inside the house.
The homeowner confronted the man, after which the intruder quickly left the area in a black sedan, police said. There were no injuries, police said.
Police described the man as Caucasian, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with short, dark hair and a mustache. The man was wearing a black sweatshirt and dark pants.
