Occupation: I am a makeup artist and color consultant. I do private and small group color consulting and makeovers. I also do personal shopping and help people clean out, update, and reorganize their wardrobe. I sell cosmetics that are custom blended in a wide range of colors to fit every skin tone. I travel a great deal in my business and train others to do this type of work.

How Long In Newtown: I have lived in Newtown a long, long time. Originally I came from Long Island.

Biggest Change In Town: Obviously the size, especially the size of the homes and the traffic. I have no complaints, I guess it’s progress. It’s a beautiful town and as far as the beauty of the town goes that hasn’t changed. It was mostly farm country when I moved here.

Family: I have three grown children — Deborah, Mark, and Lisa — and five grandchildren. Also included in my family are my daughter-in-law Gabriella and my son-in-law David. I have my wonderful mother, Alice. She lives with my sister in California. She will be 91 next month, and I am so thankful and lucky that she is so well. I visit her two or three times a year.

Hobbies: My passion is my work. Doing makeovers and helping people feel good about themselves is so rewarding. I also enjoy cooking. I love to cook all types of ethnic foods. My favorite holiday to cook for is Thanksgiving. My main interest when I’m not working is visiting with my family. I do like to take pictures and just bought a new digital camera.

Favorite Book: The most recent book that I have read and would recommend is The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. It is a really great book for mothers and daughters. It’s a book for women about women.

Favorite Music: I like the oldies and the show tunes from Broadway.

Favorite TV Show, Movie or Play: My favorite television shows are Boston Legal, Deadwood, and House. I love movies. I’m a big movie fan. I am a big Broadway fan and use to take my children to shows in the city. One of my favorites is Pippin.

Favorite Vacation Spot: It would have to be Alaska, I’ve taken three cruises there. The scenery is breathtaking. It doesn’t even look real. The blue ice is unbelievable. I also love Italy.

Most Vivid Memory About Newtown: I would have to say two things. One is the view of the flagpole from the top of Castle Hill. It is a highlight of Newtown. Also when my children were little we would sled down Castle Hill in the winter. That was back when there was no traffic.

Personal Philosophy: When in doubt do the kindest thing.
