Youth Cheerleaders Getting Ready For Competitions

Newtown Youth Cheerleading team members are working on routines and stunts as they gear up for the football and competition season. The youngest and oldest cheer representatives (D8 and D14 cheer squads) were at practice at Dickinson Park on August 12 and the rest of the teams are also going through workouts throughout August.
The cheer squads will support the football teams from the sidelines then move on to their own competitions. There are local, regional, state, and national competitions and the Newtown cheerleaders are well-represented in these events each year.

D14 squad members are gearing up for the fall. Pictured are, from left: Ellie Pickard, Juliette Martins, Brook Fattibene, Persephone Frutos, and Olivia Ortiz. This D14 squad won third place in Regionals and fifth in Nationals last year. They also hold the 2022 Nationals first-place title when they were on D12.
