Birthday In Song

 

The Connecticut Choral Society is inviting area singers to join them in a Summer Sing-in on Monday, August 28, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street in Newtown.

Works to be sung include Mozart’s Ave Verum Corpus and Requiem.

Registration is at 7 pm, and singing will begin at 7:30. Registration fee is $7 and includes refreshments and the use of music. All singers are welcome.

The Connecticut Choral Society is presenting the sing-in to give area choral singers an opportunity to sing together and get to know the Society. Founded in 1980, the Connecticut Choral Society, Inc. is under the direction of John Robert Liepold.

Its members are committed to providing a music resource for Connecticut, encouraging the singing and performance of choral music of high artistic quality, and stimulating greater appreciation and enjoyment of choral music. The Connecticut Choral Society performs locally several times each year and has appeared at Carnegie Hall, toured internationally and performed on network television.
