To the Editor:

I will be voting for Bruce Walczak for Board of Education in November because:

He and Holly have lived in Newtown for 33 years and he has been actively involved in service to Newtown all those years. Both his sons went to Newtown schools.

He cares deeply about Newtown as demonstrated by non-paid Board of Director positions on Junior Achievement, United Way, and The Newtown Family Counseling Center.

He joined the Lions over a decade, became President and was instrumental in organizing the annual eye screening program of 1400 Newtown children. Bruce even coached a soccer team when they were short coaches despite never playing soccer. When service is called for, Bruce responds.

His experience as a corporate officer gives him insight in both the budgeting process and its potential effects. He is a fact-based manager needed today to combat culture war issues being brought to the board.

Newtown is lucky to have someone like Bruce who is willing to step into the public limelight at this time.

I hope you vote for him as well.
