Warrant
Police report that on August 16, they charged Brian Dominguez, 33, of Trumbull on a warrant, lodging one count of sixth-degree larceny against him in connection with his alleged theft of items from the Stop & Shop supermarket at Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street on February 23. He was arraigned on the charge in court on August 16, police said.
Dominguez is an inmate at the Bridgeport Correctional Center, where he is serving an 18-month sentence on a narcotics possession charge, according to the state Department of Correction.
Six Violations
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Benjamin Librizzi, 28, of Brookfield, went to the police station about 3 pm on August 15 and was arrested on six charges stemming from a June 28 motor vehicle accident that occurred at the Main Street flagpole intersection.
Police report they charged Librizzi with breach of peace, driving an unregistered vehicle, evading responsibility, failure to drive a reasonable distance apart, driving a vehicle with the intent to harass/intimidate, and driving in an unsafe manner.
Late on the afternoon of June 28, Librizzi, who was driving a 2010 Toyota Camry southward on Main Street, struck the rear end of a southbound 2002 Mercedes-Benz auto at least twice. The Mercedes carried a driver and one passenger. There were no injuries.
After the accident, Librizzi told the Mercedes driver that he would be waiting with the Toyota on nearby West Street, but when police arrived at the accident scene, Librizzi had left the area.
Following arrest processing on August 15, police released Librizzi on $500 bail for an August 31 arraignment on the charges in court.
Keys Found
Police report that at about 4:25 pm on August 15, a key ring holding a set of four keys was found at the playground at Dickinson Park, off Elm Drive. Police are holding the item for safekeeping and ask the keys' owner to contact them at the police station at 3 Main Street to identify and claim the keys.

DUI Charges
At about 4:48 pm on August 15, police received a complaint concerning a possibly intoxicated motorist driving a vehicle with a child passenger on Boggs Hill Road, so they responded to the area.
Police located the vehicle in question, stopped it, and then investigated, after which they charged motorist Rebecca Rudolph, 33, of Sandy Hook with driving under the influence and also with driving under the influence with a child passenger.
After processing, police released Rudolph on $100 bail for an August 24 arraignment on the charges in state Superior Court in Danbury.
Two Accidents
State police report that two motor vehicle accidents occurred during a short period on the morning of August 12 at the Exit 9 on-ramp for eastbound Interstate 84 in Hawleyville.
At about 5:43 am, motorist Filipe DaSilva, 19, of Farmingville, N.Y., who was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, while entering that ramp collided with a road sign and then drove up an embankment. There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
At 5:52 am, a motorist who was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt owned by a Brookfield man entered the ramp, and its driver noticed a pedestrian on the roadway, after which the Chevrolet swerved to avoid the pedestrian, but then collided with a metal beam lying on the ramp, which was wreckage from the initial accident. There were no injuries. State police took no enforcement.
Honda Vs Audi
State police report that at about 4:23 pm on August 12, motorist Alban Dedvukaj, 26, of Scottsdale, Ariz., who was driving a 2014 Honda Accord eastward on Interstate 84, was changing lanes and then struck motorist a Michele Garofalo, 35, of Monroe, who was driving a 2017 Audi Q-7 SUV.
There were no injuries. Dedvukaj received an infraction for failure to maintain the travel lane, according to state police.
SUV Vs Van
A two-vehicle collision occurred on Glen Road, about 1,000 feet north of its intersection with Riverside Road, Washington Avenue, and Church Hill Road, at about 9:28 am on August 11.
In that incident, motorist Isabella Durkin, 18, of Sandy Hook, who was driving a 2013 Kia Sorento SUV, was attempting to pull out of a driveway, as motorist Frank Mathison, 77, of Sandy Hook was driving a 2003 Ford Econoline van on Glen Road. The Kia then struck the Ford, police report.
There were no injuries. Police issued Durkin an infraction for failure to grant the right of way and for driving without a license.
Fugitive From Justice
At about 4:22 pm on August 11, police stopped motorist Arelis Vega, 34, of Bridgeport to investigate near the intersection of South Main Street and Elm Drive.
Police said they charged her with three motor vehicle violations and one criminal offense. Vega was charged with improper use of marker plates, failure to have functioning brake lamps, and driving with a suspended license.
A records check indicated that Vega was wanted by police in Ohio, Newtown police said. Vega was thus charged with being a fugitive from justice in connection with a pending arrest warrant on a burglary charge in Ohio.
Newtown police held her on $100,000 bail for an August 14 appearance in Danbury Superior Court. Vega did not enter pleas to the charges at her arraignment. A judge lowered her bail to $10,100. Vega was being held on August 15 at York Correctional Center in Niantic for a September 11 court appearance.
Interstate Crash
About 9:30 pm on August 10, on westbound Interstate 84, about one mile east of Exit 9, trucker Shawn Gilpatrick, 44, of Springvale, Maine, who was driving a 2016 Freightliner truck, was merging leftward from a climbing lane when the Freightliner struck a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse SUV driven by Nicole Smith, 37, of Caratunk, Maine, state police said.
There were no injuries. Gilpatrick received a written warning for failure to maintain the proper lane.
BMW Hits Nissan
About 10:22 pm on August 10, on westbound Interstate 84, about 200 feet east of Exit 10, motorist Mark Farewell, 29, of Boston, who was driving a 2011 Nissan X-Terra SUV, stopped for traffic at a road construction site and was then struck from behind by motorist Charles Maynard, 21, of Madison, who was driving a 2006 BMW X-3 SUV, according to state police.
There were no injuries. Maynard received a written warning for following too closely.
Currituck Crash
At about 5:10 pm on August 8, motorist James Dyke, 52, of Monroe, who was driving a 2013 Toyota RAV-4 SUV on Currituck Road, came to a stop near that road's intersection with Main Street because an incident had occurred near that intersection, police said.
Marco Aguilar, 24, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 2014 GMC Savanna van, then struck the rear end of the Toyota. There were no injuries.
Police report they verbally warned Aguilar for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Rear-Ender
State police said that at about 11:44 am on August 7, motorist Richard Schumacher, 72, of Wakefield, R.I., who was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck eastward on Interstate 84, east of Exit 9, slowed for traffic conditions and was then struck from behind by truck driver Timothy Wagner, 49, of Lewisburg, Penn.
There were no injuries. Wagner received an infraction for following too closely, according to state police.
Evading
At about 3:44 pm on August 7 an unknown motorist, who was driving a sedan eastward on Jeremiah Road, near its intersection with Bristle Lane, drove off the road's right shoulder and then struck a curbside residential mailbox, after which the vehicle continued traveling onward, police said.
Based on wreckage found at the scene, police believe that the vehicle involved in the incident is a 2007 to 2010 Toyota Camry, which now has front-end damage and is missing a wheel cover. Police are investigating.
Dual Impact
Amid rainy conditions at about 3:46 pm on August 7, on westbound Interstate 84's Exit 10 on-ramp, motorist Ally Burdick, 27, of Lagrangeville, N.Y., who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, lost control of the vehicle on the wet roadway, after which it struck some guardrailing on the left road shoulder and then struck some guardcabling on the right road shoulder, state police said.
There were no injuries. Burdick received an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions.
Exit 10 Ramp
Motorist Michael Zamani, 19, of Naugatuck was driving a 2011 Nissan Versa on eastbound Interstate 84's Exit 10 on-ramp about 4:37 pm on August 7, when he lost control of the vehicle and then struck some guardrailing along the right road shoulder, state police report. There were no injuries.
Zamani received an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions, according to state police.
Main Street Collision
Police said that at about 11:16 am on August 5, motorist Joan Klos, 56, of Fanwood, N.J., was driving a 1999 Toyota Celica northward on Main Street, and then slowed in preparing to make a left turn into the driveway at Edmond Town Hall.
Motorist Anastasios Doukas, 62, of Bloomfield, who was driving a 2016 Chrysler Town & Country minivan northward, then struck the rear end of the Toyota.
There were no injuries. Police issued Doukas an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Jeep On Wet Road
At about 12:46 pm on August 5, motorist Hanna Holmes, 16, of Newtown, who was driving a 1998 Jeep Wrangler SUV northward on Elm Drive, made a left turn onto westbound Sugar Street and then accelerated on the wet roadway, police report.
The vehicle, however, went out of control, struck some curbing along the right road shoulder, and then hit a utility box. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Holmes a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Two Trucks
At about 1:47 pm on August 5, on eastbound Interstate 84, Arvid Brown, 46, of Texas, was driving a 2015 International tractor-trailer truck in the right lane of two lanes, state police said.
The rear trailer of a 2014 Freightliner tandem tractor-trailer truck driven by Michael Fonseca, 55, of Naugatuck, then struck the International's left rear-view mirror, state police said.
There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.
Evading Responsibility
Police report they are investigating an accident that occurred in Botsford about 11:30 pm on July 29, in which the vehicle's driver left the scene of the crash after the auto had collided with some guardrailing. Police said the 2004 Toyota Camry involved in the crash is owned by a Danbury woman.
The police investigation into the collision indicated that the Toyota was being driven southward on Toddy Hill Road, near its intersection with Button Shop Road, when while entering a curve to the left on a downward slope, the vehicle drove to the right and then smashed into some guardrailing. Police said they found the vacant vehicle about 100 yards south of the point of impact.
The driver could not be found at or near the vehicle, police said. A police dog could not locate the missing motorist.
