Peter J. Dobrydnio

Peter “Pete” J. Dobrydnio, 67, of Newtown, formerly a longtime resident of Eastchester, N.Y., died August 7. He was born June 4, 1945, in Mount Vernon, N.Y., to Mitchell and Isabel Anderson Dobrydnio.

Mr Dobrydnio was the beloved husband of Rena (Baeza) Dobrydnio; beloved brother of Mitchell Dobrydnio, and his wife Elaine, and of Christine Dobrydnio; an admired uncle; and a greatly valued and respected friend of many.

He participated in baseball, football, and other activities as a student at Eastchester High School. In recent years he handled the chains for the school’s football games. He received his associate’s degree from Mercy College in liberal arts.

Mr Dobrydnio joined the United States Air Force in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1971 after four years of active duty and two years in the reserves.

He was a lifelong member of St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Eastchester, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the POW-MIA CT Forget-Me-Not, and Danbury Railway. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, Rangers, and Eastchester High School Eagles, modified racing, and participated in softball leagues in Eastchester and Danbury.

Peter was an associate for many years at Curry Chevrolet in Scarsdale, N.Y., at Courtney Honda in Milford, and most recently at Milford Auto Supply.

Funeral services took place August 11.
