Oil Painting Demo At Next SCAN Meeting
Artist Beverly Branch will paint a figure in an interior, using oil paints, at the Wednesday, August 22, meeting of the Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN), at 1:30 pm. This demonstration is open to the public and is held at the Newtown Meeting House (lower level), 31 Main Street, at the flagpole. Admission is free.
Ms Branch will share how digital photography has proven to be a great resource to her as an artist. For her demonstration âFigure in Landscape,â she will show photos and talk about composition, value, form, and expression.
Ms Branch graduated from Paier College of Art in 1973. She was the recipient of the Urban Arts Initiative Grant by the Connecticut Commission for the Arts in 1999. She has completed commissioned work for Readerâs Digest Young Family book Series: Thumbelina and Nightingale in 2003; and is working on Proud Little Peacock for Readerâs Digest Kids series âLittle Animal Adventures.â
In May of this year, Ms Branch won an award at the Spring âArt in the Countryâ exhibition sponsored by the Easton Arts Council.
