New Show At FrameWorks Gallery

The next art show at the FrameWorks Gallery (Koenig FrameWorks), 97 South Main Street, is “Uncertain Lucidity” featuring artists Randy Lagana and Eric Camiel, opening Saturday, August 25.

This show is another product of the partnership with the Housatonic Valley Cultural Alliance (HVCA), a regional arts agency that provides services to creative resources in the Housatonic municipalities of Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, Newtown, New Milford, Ridgefield, Redding, and Sherman. The FrameWorks Gallery will be hosting periodic art shows with HVCA members as part of HVCA’s Accessible Art 2012.

A Connecticut native, Randy Lagana is a self-taught artist who has illustrated books, magazines, and games in the United States, Germany, Holland, France, Italy, Russia, and the Scandinavian countries. His work has been exhibited in many shows throughout the United States, Canada, and England. Mr Lagana has recently been exploring abstract expressionism and the paintings in the upcoming exhibit are another avenue of expressionism.

Eric Camiel’s film work has won multiple Emmys and an Academy Award nomination. His work has been reviewed in The New York Times, Glamour, and Time, and his work has been featured in Time magazine’s  “Person of the Year” article. His sculpture has been featured in the Sunday New York Times and has won several prizes. His work has been shown in the Katonah Museum, several galleries, and a large piece is currently placed at the Westport Art Center.

“Randy’s abstracts and Eric’s amazing sculptures create an interesting blend of contemporary interpretative arts. We are extremely fortunate to have such artistic, talented individuals represented at our gallery,” states FrameWorks owner Casper Sabatino.

An artists’ reception will take place Thursday, September 13, at FrameWorks Gallery, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The works will be on exhibit through September 29.
