Job Report Shows Market Strength Continues Into Summer

NORWALK — AllCountyJobs.com recently released its Fairfield County Job Market report for July 2012. The report tracks the overall activity on the area’s leading regional job board with more than 100,000 unique visitors clicking through close to 500,000 times per month to view details on open jobs in the area.

FairfieldCountyJobs.com is also home to a resume database with more tahn 40,000 resumes from area job seekers, allowing employers to source candidates directly on its website.

Highlights for  the July report include:

*Posting volume was up two percent over June, but atypical for July, which tends to be one of the weaker months of the year for job posting activity.

*July 2012 was the strongest July for new job postings since 2008, up a whopping 26 percent over July 2011.

*The highest volume of positions posted this past month was for roles in Marketing and Sales.

*Greenwich and Stamford were the hot markets.

“Seeing two consecutive months of job posting growth is noteworthy since 2008. Seeing them occur in the summer months when hiring tends to soften significantly is remarkable,” according to David Lewis, CEO of AllCountyJobs.com. “While factors like traffic and cost of living in Fairfield County will continue to adversely impact the supply of candidates for open jobs at the lower levels, activity of this nature given these numbers shows that the market has heated up.”

Founded in 1999, AllCountyJobs.com is a Norwalk-based network of local and industry-specific online job boards covering the Northeast US Corridor.
