Inn At Newtown Absolut Gallery Opens August 26

The grand opening of the Absolut Gallery will take place Sunday, August 26, from 2 to 4 pm, at the Inn at Newtown, 19 Main Street.

The premier presentation of the Absolut Gallery will be the dual exhibit “Both Sides Now!” by artists Gayle Gleckler and Tony Woolner of North Salem, N.Y.

Ms Gleckler, an acrylic painter, and Mr Woolner, a monoprint artist, will share their views of Portugal, reflecting their own artistic perspectives.

Jazz singer Lisa Maxwell will perform the Joni Mitchell classic “Both Sides Now,” as well as other music.

Executive Chef Milton Curillo will offer a selection of hors d’oeuvres with traditional Portuguese influences, and special cocktails will be served from 2 to 4.

Mr Woolner is a professional architect and has won awards for his contemporary home designs. As an artist, he has evolved an original monoprint technique using a blend of mediums.

His monoprint “Pawling” was featured in the 34th annual Juried Ridgefield Guild of Artists Show in 2011.

Ms Gleckler has had a successful career in advertising, creating many award-winning campaigns. She is the founder of Gleckler and Partners.

She was one of nine artists juried in for Westport Arts Center’s Solos Show 2011, and won first place in the Silvermine Art Student’s Show for painting in 2007 and 2010.

Both artists have had pieces juried into the Putnam Arts Center Show in 2011 and in 2012.
