Danbury Health Care Center Names New Medical Director
DANBURY âDanbury Health Care Center has announced the appointment of Z. Michael Taweh, MD, as medical director. Danbury Health Care Center is a state-of-the art skilled rehabilitation and nursing center located on Osborne Street, directly across from Danbury Hospital.
Dr Taweh received his medical degree from Saint Georgeâs University School of Medicine in Wisconsin and completed his residency at Maimonides Medical Center in New York. After completing his residency, he was appointed staff physician at Danbury Hospital, where he continues to specialize in internal medicine, primary care, and geriatrics.
In 2002, Dr Taweh founded Kevinâs Community Center, a free clinic in Newtown, that provides uninsured residents with access to free health care. He is a member of the American Geriatrics Society, The American Medical Association, and The American College of Physicians.
Dr Taweh is a licensed Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and of the Advanced Cardiac Life Support. In 2004, Dr. Taweh was the recipient of the Annual Magida Award and was named Maimonides Medical Centerâs Resident Teacher of the Year.
As medical director, Dr Taweh will be providing leadership, education, advocacy, and professional development to the dedicated patient care team at Danbury Health Care Center.
