WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Phillips Collection will host an Artful Evening gallery talk, “Americans Abroad — Prendergast’s European Promenades,” September 6 as part of its Thursday extended hours from 5 to 8:30 pm. Gallery talks are at 6 and 7.

Maurice Prendergast studied painting in Paris and his numerous trips abroad stimulated his creativity. This gallery talk will consider these journeys and their influence on his work.
