Labor Day Weekend Book Sale continues, 9 am-4 pm, Bridgeport Hall (Fairfield Hills campus), Mile Hill Road, free admission, proceeds benefit C.H. Booth Library; 426-4533.

Annual Newtown Labor Day Parade, 10 am-noon, kicks off from Soldiers and Sailors Monument at top of Hanover Road, parade route runs along Main Street, turns onto Glover Avenue, then goes to end of Queen Street.
