Due to the paving work being done on the parking lot at Treadwell Memorial Park on Philo Curtis Road, residents and other guests are being asked to plan to park in the property's new alternate parking lot for a few days.

Newtown Parks & Recreation announced the temporary move Wednesday morning.

The secondary lot is located to the north of the park's main entrance. It is usually used for Parks & Rec maintenance vehicles, and not generally open to the public.

The town park and pool are both open today.

A spokesperson at Newtown Parks & Rec said Wednesday morning that the parking situation may last through the end of this week.
