Landscape Demo By Styler, August 24 With SCAN
The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will have Anda Styler painting in acrylic at its next meeting, scheduled forÃÂ Wednesday,ÃÂ August 24, at 1:30 pm. Ms Styler will be offering a demonstration on creating a landscape.
The program will be in the lower meeting room of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole). All are welcome, free of charge.
Anda Styler began painting in acrylics when she was 16. From there she also went on to discover oil painting. Acrylics, however remain her favorite medium, which she has worked in for over 40 years.
She attended Parson School of Design and graduated in 1983. She has had many accomplishments in the art world, including, interviews with both local and national publications, such as American Art Collector, Who's Who in America, Country Garden Magazine, Victoria Magazine, Art Speak Magazine NY, and numerous awards and recognition for work as a painter.
Her paintings and techniques are published in two books by North Light Publications.
Her works are currently represented by several galleries in and around New England and to her credit she has had many one woman shows with great success. In July 2007 she created four large paintings that are now part of a permanent collection purchase by Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. In January 2008, two of her paintings were juried into the Paint America 100 Artists. Her works are included in the new book publication North Light Best of Acrylic Painters 2013.
For many years Ms Styler painted on location;ÃÂ these days she paints both in and out of the studio. She continues to explore subject matter, but is especially drawn to the magic of the landscape, and places she travels to, especially hidden gems not often found by others.
Ms Styler recently learned that she was a winner in a national competition for the new book to be published by North Light Book Publisher, Acrylic Works 4: captivating color, which is scheduled to beÃÂ published inÃÂ January 2017.ÃÂ A show of her work recently opened at PS Gallery in Litchfield. It will be remain on view until the end of August.
