Alternative SAT Prep Course

Newtown Continuing Education will offer a new low-cost SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) preparation course from Ivy Bound Test Prep for the November SAT tests as well as the October PSAT test.

Ivy Bound Test Prep holds SAT preparation classes throughout the northeast. To establish the program in the Newtown area, Ivy Bound is offering a discount to their normally low-cost fee, which includes materials. Ivy Bound instructors are primarily college and grad students who have all scored among the top two percent on the SAT. The majority of Ivy Bound students have raised their test scores by over 100 points.

The Ivy Bound course is open to students in any town in the classes of 2002 and 2003. Classes for the November SAT run eight Fridays, beginning September 7, from 2:45 to 5:45 pm. One additional test and review session will be scheduled for mid-October.

Students prepping for the PSAT attend the first six-Friday classes plus one PSAT-only session on Saturday, September 15. Except for the extra PSAT session, all classes are at Newtown High School. Through August 31, the discounted course fee is $395 and registration is through Newtown Continuing Education.
