Frank J. Rizzardi

Frank J. Rizzardi, 93, of Fairfield, beloved husband of 59 years to Josephine (Chessa) Rizzardi, died August 14 in Bridgeport Hospital.

He was the father of David Rizzardi of Newtown.

Born in Bridgeport, Frank Rizzardi was the son of the late Dominic and Francesca (DaCorte) Rizzardi and was a resident of Fairfield for the past 58 years. He was a retired plumbing inspector for the City of Bridgeport where he had worked for over 15 years and was a member of the Association of State Inspectors for the State of Connecticut. He was a member of Local Union 173 – Plumbers and Pipe Fitters, as well as the State Union 777.

He was a member of the Fitness 4000 Club as well as the Holy Name Society of Assumption. Frank Rizzardi was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus – Assumption Council 11077 Sheridan Assembly.

Survivors in addition to his devoted wife Josephine and his son are three other sons, Frank D. Rizzardi of Fairfield, Dr Roger Rizzardi of Dayton, Ohio, and Richard Rizzardi of Fairfield; a daughter, Francine Wolf of Acton, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were scheduled on Thursday, August 17, from 4 to 8 pm in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line).

Friends are invited to go directly to Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield, on Friday, August 18, at 9:30 am, where a Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled. Interment will be in St Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
