Stubborn Facts And Logic
Stubborn Facts And Logic
To the Editor:
In his lengthy, wind-filled diatribe of last week (âA Flimsy Piece of Propaganda,â Letter Hive, 8/8/08) local lefty Martin Blanco offers his usual mix of mere facts, logic, and reasoning. These quaint rhetorical sophistries have no place in American discourse today. âBehind-The-Timesâ Blanco apparently didnât get the memo.
The latte-sipping âhate-America-firstâ crowd, of which Martin Blanco is apparently the cheerleader-in-chief, wants to turn the clock back to a time when the President would have been bound by the Constitution â a prisoner shackled by the Bill of Rights, rule of law, and other outdated parliamentary procedures.
Mr Blanco, you are probably going to assert next that the connection between Atta and Sadaam was based some sort of made-up forgery â or that Iraq had no WMD! Despite your fantasies, you can rest assured that President Bush will persevere in hunting down these dangerous weapons â scouring even under his own desk to keep America safe at night.
Mr Blanco, you and people of your ilk should take your tie-dyed shirts, you cheese-of-the-month club memberships, your BMWs and ACLU cards, your freedom fries, Perrier, and Birkenstocks, your $12,000 haircuts, and your stubborn facts and logic and ship north to Canada (or at least Litchfield) where you belong!
Respectfully,
Jim Allen
