Horse Guard Award Members Honored At Award Ceremony
The Second Company Governorâs Horse Guard recently spent the week in Annual Training at Camp Rell in Niantic. During the annual event, Brigadier General Steven Scorzato, Assistant Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard participated in an awards ceremony. Captain Pamela Berlekovic was given an achievement Award for her work organizing a revision of 2GHG Bylaws; 2nd Lieutenant Jennifer Mazzara received a commendation for organizing the 2GHG Horse Show and Open House and ten Troopers were given Annual Attendance Ribbons. They are Major Gordon Johnson, 1st Lieutenant Kim Charney, 2nd Lieutenant Jennifer Mazzara, Sergeants Jose Rosa, Jacqueline Sundblade and Melanie Viets, Corporals Karen Casagrande and Lauren Chirgwin and Privates First Class Audrey Greenwood and Stacy Walker. In addition, all four Militia Units practiced for the upcoming 2GHG Bicentennial Battalion Review that will take place on October 4 in New Haven. The week ended with a dinner at Constantineâs in Niantic, and the announcement that the First Squad, led by Sergeant Kindra Johnson, had won the squad competition.
