Caring In a Troubled World:

An Interfaith Conference

MADISON — “Caring for Body, Mind and Spirit in a Troubled World” is the theme of this year’s Connecticut Interfaith Network on Aging’s Annual Conference, scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, at the Mercy Center.

The keynote speaker this year is Bill Halamandaris, author, co-founder and president of The Heart of America Foundation, and a nationally recognized leader in the fields of aging, hospice, health, and long-term care. Mr Halamandaris has been a featured guest on 60 Minutes, ABC 20/20, Good Morning America, NBC Today, CBS This Morning, NBC Newsday, and on CNN, as well as interviewed in USA Toda, and other publications. The keynote address, “Be the Light,” will follow a day of workshops led by professionals familiar with the joys and challenges of aging.

Planning committee members from the Danbury area are Karen Messina, executive director, Shelter of the Cross, Danbury, and Jeane Roberts of Newtown.

The Connecticut Interfaith Network on Aging is a diverse and dedicated network of people that has been planning educational and spiritual conferences since 1984. Previous conferences have resulted in capacity attendance.

Anyone interested in receiving a conference brochure may contact The Rev Barbara Barlok at 230-8994. Reservations will be accepted until September 1.
