NBLA Fun Day and August Activities

Newtown Bridle Lands Association held its first  Members Fun Day on July 26 at the Bethel Cooperative Extension Center Show Grounds.

The event featured 22 horse and rider teams testing their skills in gymkhana games in one ring and a challenging obstacle course in the other ring.

Games included cone bending, ribbon race, egg & spoon ride, relay race, a dress-in-the -costume race and concluded with a champagne ride.

The obstacle course included balloons, a tarp walkover, dragging a wagon, pushing a ball, jumping a cross rail, backing through a pattern. The potluck lunch with fried chicken and beverages was supplied by NBLA. 

On August 16, Happy Trails Farm is sponsoring an NBLA Show N Go Ride. There will be a slow ride and a not-so-slow ride in Tarrywile Park in Danbury.

The riding will be followed by a potluck Picnic and  karaoke singing up in the barn. For information or reservations, call Lucy Prybylski at 203-778-6218.

NBLA has its next open meeting on Tuesday, August 18 at 7:30 pm at the Meeting House, Main Street in Newtown. Dr Claudia Sandoval from Fairfield Equine will speak about parasite control and deworming.
