WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Phillips Collection will present an Artful Evening gallery talk, “Transatlantique — Monet and the American Impressionists,” on Thursday, August 30, at 6 and 7 pm.

Claude Monet’s bright palette, broken brushwork, and subject matter inspired American impressionists. Attendees can learn about his influence through a discussion of the painters who traveled abroad to work with Monet directly and the painters who emulated his style from across the Atlantic Ocean.
