Margaret Kekes
Margaret Kekes, 78, wife of the late Joseph Kekes of South Main Street, Newtown, died on August 10 at Ashlar of Newtown after a long battle with Alzheimerâs disease.
She was born in Budapest, Hungary, on May 5, 1923, daughter of the late Istvan and Charlotte Komlody.
A resident of Newtown for 20 years, she had formerly resided in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport where she was the proprietor of a grocery store for 20 years.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Kekes of Newtown and Charlotte Pospisil of Trumbull; one sister, Ilona Kaldi of Budapest, Hungary; and two grandchildren, Victoria and Michael Pospisil.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Budapest, Hungary, at a later date. Interment was in Newtown Village Cemetery.
Contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimerâs Association of Fairfield County, 607 Main Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
Arrangements were by Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown.
