Parks & Recreation Assistant Director RoseAnn Reggiano welcomed all in attendance on Thursday, August 4, for a talent show to celebrate the end of day camps at Dickinson Memorial Park and Treadwell Park for the summer.

The event, Ms Reggiano said, would be a showcase of campers' creativity.

Campers represented their respective camps, either Dickinson or Treadwell, in groups while performing rehearsed dances or skits. Dickinson played host for the event, which was held in the site's pavilion.

The entire Dickinson camp crew started the talent show by walking in a large circle or sitting on the ground "drumming" with sticks on the cement to the beat of the song "Shake, Shake, Shake, Senora."

"I love seeing the campers perform and see what they come up with," Ms Reggiano said, after the event. "The c?ampers' and counselors' creativity is wonderful to see. It has been a wonderful summer day camp this year. I would like to send a big 'thank you' out to the entire camp staff for the wonderful job they did and making it the best summer ever."

The day camps began on June 20.

Treadwell day camp counselor Charlie Bronson held camper Hayden Gietz up in the air at the Thursday, August 4, talent show. The 4- and 5-year-olds performed a "The Lion King Remix" dance, which included the song "Circle of Life," with Hayden dressed as the character of Simba, who was held up similarly in the Disney movie.
