YORK, PENN. — The original 149th semiannual York Antiques Show and Sale is scheduled for Friday, August 31, through Sunday, September 2, at Memorial Hall East at the York Fairgrounds Convention & Expo Center.

The fall edition of this popular event features 96 carefully chosen exhibitors in room settings offering an impressive range of antiques. According to show manager, Melvin L. Arion, the merchandise at York will run the full gamut from Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century American and English furniture, both formal and country pieces, fine early porcelain such as Staffordshire, delft, Canton and Chinese Export, to pottery including redware and stoneware.

Dealers will also be offering Oriental carpets, hooked rugs, samplers and other textiles, quilts, estate jewelry, early kitchen and fireplace items and much more.

The York show is known for providing a mixture and variety of antiques that is as broad as possible so that just about everybody can find a “new” treasure.

New to the fall show will be folk art and painted furniture specialist Joseph Martin, Brownington, Vt., as well as Pennsylvania dealers Frank and Terri Martin of Mertztown and Fryling’s Antiques of Green Lane.

During all three days of the show George and Mickey Deike will be autographing and personalizing copies of Feathers and Foliage: The Life and Times of the Pearlware Peafowl.

Show hours both Friday and Saturday are 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday, 11 am to 5 pm, parking is free, and food will be available. Admission is $10 per person, $9 with this article or an ad.
