WestConn Marketing Department Receives Grant

DANBURY — Western Connecticut State University’s marketing department was recently awarded a $3,000 educational grant by the Direct Marketing Day Foundation, Inc, (DMDF), a nonprofit organization relating to the marketing industry.

The grant will be used to fund a scholarship for a WestConn student pursuing a degree in interactive marketing.

“The DMDF has been instrumental in encouraging students to pursue direct and interactive marketing as a career path,” noted Dr Ronald Drozdenko, chair of the marketing department under WestConn’s Ancell School of Business. “The scholarships provide an additional incentive for students to explore this dynamic area of marketing.”

The DMDF bestows grants by application only “to those educators who are best qualified to use them directly to benefit students,” according to the organization’s website.

“In addition to the scholarships, the DMDF also holds career days in New York City during the fall semester,” Dr Ronald Drozdenko said. “Our students find the presentations by top professionals in the field very informative and motivating.”
