The youth arrived back from this special weekend on fire for their faith. After praying the rosary together, they each shared their experiences from the retreat. Each was touched by different aspects of the weekend. For some it was Adoration, for others it was the talks, still others Reconciliation. It was the beautiful music, however, that stirred the hearts and souls of the young people, tying the whole retreat together.

In an effort to continue the momentum of this spirit-filled event, the St Rose youth ministry is hosting a concert in Newtown with the Steubenville Youth Conference music ministry leader, Martin Doman and his band.

“Our hope is that the concert will draw not only those who participated in the retreat, but also their families and families from the surrounding communities. By coming together on this special evening, we pray the youth may be renewed once again and have an opportunity to share the flame of Christ’s Love with others,” said Rodd Blessey, senior youth group advisor, who organized the concert with Joseph DeMaida, advisor of the seventh and eighth grade youth group.

The concert will be held Tuesday, August 17 in the Reed school starting with mass at 6 pm followed by the concert. In an effort to make this event affordable to all who would like to attend, the organizers are suggesting a donation of $10 per ticket. To reserve tickets for purchase at the door call Rodd Blessey at 426-2572, ext 17. To check out Martin Doman and his ministry visit www.martindoman.com.
