Summer Sounds Concert Series Concludes Tuesday

Ashlar of Newtown’s 18th Annual Summer Sounds Concert Series – which has been offering free concerts on Tuesday evenings during the summer – will conclude on August 17. The public is invited to join residents of Ashlar of Newtown and residents of its assisted living facility, Lockwood Lodge, for a free performances in the courtyard of Ashlar/Lockwood at 139 Toddy Hill Road.

Concerts begin at 7 pm, and are cancelled in the event of rain.

The Frank Porto Band will be performing music from the 1930s and 40s for the final concert of this year’s season.

Admission is free; bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Ashlar will be presenting its annual Classic Car Show & Sock Hop on Saturday, September 18. A presentation by members of The Classic Nights Car Club, the event will run from 11 am to 2 pm. Lunch and soft drinks will be available for purchase, and DJ Mark Edwards will be playing some of the favorite songs of the 1950s.
